SHORT BUT SWEET
Asalamualaykum (Peace be upon you),
Long days become short,
Tough times become easy,
Enemy's become friends,
Hard hearts become soft,
Disbelievers become believers,
Sadness becomes happiness,
Everything is temporary.
One thing ends, another begins,
This is life.

ITS BEEN HARD..
Asalamualaykum (Peace be upon you),
Today has been hard.
It has been one of those days where you are just tired, where you need a break from everything, where you forget what happiness is.
Its been one of those day where you have to try and remember that its not the end of the world and that its okay for it not to be your problem.
Its been one of those days where you just want everyone to stop relying on you and stop taking advantage and just take responsibility.
Its been one of those days where you just try to remember the last time you weren't asked to do something, you weren't relied on, you weren't responsible and you just relaxed.
Its been one of those days where you just want to curl up, cry and go to sleep.
It has been one of those days where people are saying all the wrong things, where they are just not offering there services and just, again, left things on your shoulder.
Its been one of those days where you feel the closeness of Allah and know that he is the only one who understands.
It has been one of those days...

TIME/ AGE/ MOMENTS
Asalamualaylum (Peace be upon you),
Wagwan! - Haha Jokes,
How are you?
I wasn't sure what to speak about today but I thought maybe if I began writing, maybe something would formulate in my mind.
So if this blog post does not make sense, please don't judge me haha.
I don't know who reads my posts and if you do please let me know, I would love to know what kinds of things you guys like to read!
Anyways - I am trying to think about whats new in life as I write,
Exam season has begun! Officially had our last day of lecturers for second year of university yesterday - now we have broken up for easter holidays/ revision period.
Its weird because even though they say its easter holidays, I don't see how people who sit exams can even take it off to relax. Just thinking about how close exam times are, makes me think I need to start revising from now.
Also, my birthday is literally in the middle of all my exams, I have an exam a day before my birthday and a day after my birthday.
Its not that I celebrate my birthday or anything its just as I have grown older, for some reason my birthday just signifies one day closer to something. I can't explain it, I don't want to say one day closer to death because that's just way too deep and that's not necessarily what I think about, rather it means that I need to start getting on my game religiously and try to keep up my imaan more strongly and try to keep consistent. Its one of those things where I feel like I try as hard as I can to make my actions right, but its what goes on inside that I feel I need to pay attention to even more and maintain and keep strong. I need to make myself FEEL and keep reminding myself what life is all about.
That's why the fact that my birthday is in the midth of my exams makes me feel slightly anxious because it doesn't give me time to reflect what my birthday will signify and what my aim should be.
Its almost like 'new years revolutions' except mine happens with age (on my birthday) and its more spiritually related - also physically but physical stuff never seems to go according to plan. Haha.
I'm not sure if this makes sense but I understand where I am coming from in my head and I hope it comes across here.
I can only make myself calm down and realise its just age and time will still keep ticking and insha'Allah it'll just be another day and Insha'Allah I will have time to get better and to keep improving on my deen. We can always keep learning.
We can never say we know everything and we can't feel satisfied - but we can get better.
Anyways, I hope you are all well!
Hope this wasn't too deep haha
Thanks for reading!

TWO BOYS
Asalamualaykum (Peace be upon you!)
I thought I would post today as I got a bit of inspiration from someone who probably will never ever know how much his little speech had an affect on me.
Starting from the beginning, I was doing something, whereby the window was open and two guys were talking outside. I didnt mean to eavesdrop but they just so happened to be talking out loud that I ended up hearing what he was saying.
One of the guys was telling his friends about how he wants to start a business from scratch in order to build his empire but the other friend was almost putting him down. The first guy did not take no for an answer and then he started drilling his friend about his actions and what he believes in.
One of the things that he said was "do you believe that if you want something so much then you will get up and get it and that if you don't get up and get it it will not come to you?"
He started mentioning the fact that his friend has gone so far from the deen and he tried to tell him to get back to it saying that god did not create us to be average and that he created us to do more than we think. He said that we all have a purpose and regardless of what you think your purpose is you make it your job to find out.
I am talking about two boys standing outside in the corner of the street who may look like they are up to no good.
We do NOT know what people are capable of. We do NOT know the extent of the things we an achieve. It is our duty to find out what we can do!
Some people live ordinary lives and some live extraordinary lives. The difference between us as human beings is we need to seek out what is important to US. What is big in our lives and what we feel is the most important aspect of life that we need to achieve that could possibly weigh heavily on our moral scales.
This is not just for people who are religious, this is for everybody.
Don't just take in everything that you are told, go out there and establish something that is important to you and make it worthwhile.
Don't settle for less.
Go out and make it big in all senses of the world, don't think of what society perceives as big, think of what will be big to you!
I believe in you..

WANTING WHAT YOU CANT HAVE
Asalamualaykum (Peace be upon you),
How are you?
Have you ever been in that situation (where you've lost your keys and your mobile phone) - Jokes haha!
Have you ever been in that situation where you have looked around and observed your surroundings where you are largely content with what you have but there still remains one aspect in your life in which you want to explore, or see to eventually make a decision about it.
A lot of times as kids or teenagers things are dictated in a way that things are strictly black and white with no leeway. Don't get me wrong, I actually appreciate that because without guidance then what are we? People who guide us have our best interests at heart. They are the people that we need in our lives to keep us on the right track, and to bring us back if we go astray.
My point however, is that sometimes there are some things in our lives that are ours to explore. That reflect our own true interests. That we know that there are many outcomes and we are warned about them but we still want to explore it just to be 100% certain that there is no other alternative. To know whether there is a slight chance that the best outcome will happen and the worst will be avoided. To be in a situation where the choice you make does not affect those around you.
Its hard to explain and I hope I am making sense.
It's just sometimes I think about these things where I want to make a specific move in my life but I can't because there are just too many factors that would be affected in a way that can be ruined and irreversible.
It is usually the things that are big in your life but not in anyone else's life.
The things that people think that you are over but in fact you're not.
The things that seemed so minor but are huge
The things that people think you have forgotten about but they're still alive in your heart
The things that cause confliction because there is no actual right or wrong answer.
The thing that eventually you are going to have to be content with because you are the one who has to make the right move.
Its hard.
I get it.
Just wish sometimes things were more clear cut.

REMINISING
Asalamualaykum!
Today I was reminded of my love for nature and peace. The feeling of complete serenity when you are faced with nature and no people.
Living in a city for over a year now made me almost forget the feeling of the calmness that settles over my heart when I contemplate life whether its sitting outside on the grass or taking a walk where my view is all natural.
I was reminded of the period of my life where I used to sit under the nights sky - taking up the opportunity where the sky was completely black and I had a priceless view of the moon and stars which shone so brightly in the nights sky.
The feeling of love for something temporary, the love for the happiness of that moment, and the love for the things to come.
The fact that that time of my life has passed and I almost forgot about it, had it not been for the reminder that I received - I would not have stopped and tried to imagine that particular situation again. Trying to capture that moment again by reminiscing is so important makes me almost feel as though I have managed to find that moment again by sitting under the stars and thinking deep thoughts about life.
Don't you just love those moments in life where you are overcome by a strong feeling of life and death and life again... where you realise your purpose, where you think about your past, present and future ... a moment where you are just - ALIVE.
I personally feel like those moments are so rare and so necessary that when they come along they should never be forgotten. They should be made into a safe place, a place where no harm can affect it and no situation can destroy it.
Go outside, go experience life, go experience nature, go experience those natural, priceless, uncomplicated moments in life where nothing material is attached and it is just you and the moment.
May Allah grant us those moments of serenity, those moments of calmness and those moments of beauty.
The pictures that I have attached were taken by me over the christmas holidays.
Those moments were very much appreciated.

CREATIVITY AND CREATING
Asalamualaykum! *waves*
How are you?
Recently I have been having thoughts of business and just ways of doing something outside of the norm instead of just going to university to do something 'in the future'.
It was strange because I was overcome with this sense of confusion where I was wondering why I wasn't doing something outside of just coming back home, revising and university. Surely that isn't healthy..
So me and my sisters and my mother have devised a plan to get creative!
Whether it becomes successful or not, it is just an idea to bring us together in something that we can all share in common. I can do the administrative and idea work, they can do the creative work in itself (cheeky of me I know but trust me, my art skills aren't all that).
I haven't had the opportunity to try just yet because other things are getting in the way, however, my family have been getting busy.
I want to show you some of the work that they have done and I would really like your honest opinions.
They are also all for sale if any of you are interested. Plus you can also make demands as to what you would like and Insha'Allah we can create it for you as you want. They are original designs and you can just contact me if you are interested for details of price and payment methods.
Of course this is all up to you, but regardless of whether or not you want to buy it I want to show you the hardwork that my mother especially has been putting into the work. I hope you take a moment to appreciate it.
Hope you are all keeping well! I aim to post a blog more often and find time for photography insha'Allah.
Thank you for reading! Lots of love

Asalamualaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu!
Lets just make dua that everything goes as we plan and may Allah cover our sins in this life and the next. May He build for us houses in Jannah and make our tests that of which does not break us.
Long time no speak!
Welcome to 2015 although we are almost a month in (my bad haha life has been busy).
Its weird because I still have this nagging feeling when time changes so rapidly where I want to talk about it or think about how fast time is going, but I almost feel scared to do so in case it takes me down a dark and miserable route whereby I dwell on time and the meaning of it.
Of course I'm not saying that I completely blank it, but I can only handle thinking about it to the point where it puts me back in my place and almost "recharges" my outlook on life and what my purpose is (and of course the fact that time is flying waaay to quickly).
2015 insha'Allah will be the year where I figure out what I would like to do with my future. Its a difficult prospect, thinking about what will become of yourself once you leave routine, or start a new routine or even having to do the same routine again and again. I think the strangeness of it all begins when you feel as though you've just become used to a certain prospect, whether its starting university or moving to a new place, or even starting the new year - and before you know it its over and you have to change and get used to something else.
To be honest though, I don't think I adjust or look forward to change quiet as much as a lot of adventurous people. Obviously when a change actually happens it turns out to be for the best insha'Allah, but its that initial 'putting your foot out the door' so to speak that is the major point of intimidation.
Lets just make dua that everything goes as we plan and may Allah cover our sins in this life and the next. May He build for us houses in Jannah and make our tests that of which does not break us.
Hope everything is going well for you, Dear Reader.

END OF TERM
The time has come where holidays begin, the term has ended and the relaxations become a thought.
It has been a busy few months where university has started again and life just became a matter of uni and assignments. A routine almost with nothing in between.
Because of this I have been feeling lately that I need to get out more, not stay in all the time.
But sometimes it becomes a bore when you do those kind of things by yourself all of the time.
Generally, I get on with people in big groups, but somehow I feel more comfortable in smaller groups.
Regardless, its been hectic. So, I welcome this holiday with open arms and the need for a new environment.
I hope that you readers have been trying something new, and have been happy with what you are doing with your life at the moment.
May Allah make it easier for you, Ameen.
Speak soon!

APOLOGIES
Asalamualaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,
Allah's peace and blessings upon you.
I would like to apologise for the lack of content on this blog.
Internet issues you see. Who knew that having no internet could become such a burden and something that we depend on to even function in daily life. Be it contacting someone through Whatsapp, or even just watching something on Youtube.
Anyways,
Hows your Imaan going?
This year Isoc at our university is on the days which I am unable to attend which sucks because last year it was definitely a positive factor regarding faith and intentions.
This year I have to find other means of keeping myself content and practicing through videos or people or even large events.
All of us could benefit from this if you are going through a similar situation, in that we should try and be around Muslims more than once a week, be it attending the mosque or jumuah, or even talking about Islam.
May Allah (swt) make it easy for us.

NEW BEGINNINGS
Its that time of year again where we all have to go back to school, college, university, work and actually try hard to accomplish our goal.
New beginnings are great when you want to try and break old habits, or fit in something new or even have a refreshing start to what you used to do.
It often helps to have something new be it a book or accessories or stationary of even a new mentality.
Because I am going back to university soon Insha'Allah, one of my favourite things to get is a new bag and stationary. They make me feel like I am ready to start again and make an effort for the year ahead.
Just remember to stick to the deen.
Stick to what you believe in.
Implement it into your daily lives so if God wills you will be successful in all aspects rather than one.
I hope you all have a blessed year and a successful beginning.
For those of you who are stuck on trying again, remember, pick a focus point and don't rush into something. Its the same for everything, if you rush into something then you slow down quicker than if you pace yourself in the beginning.
As my lecturer used to say in her Greek accent: 'Stay positive, keep smiling.'

OVERTHINKER..
What some people may call "over thinking" is something that I partake in often.
Rarely do I sit and think about something without it leading to all kinds of possibilities.
I honestly do not know if this is a good or bad thing.
And trust me, it is never a concern about what other people think that I do this, but rather a way of portraying myself in a certain way FOR myself, to be a better person.
But for example, when I think that, my head will lead to a place that questions whether my intentions are pure and whether what I am doing is actually for myself or as pure as I assume I am being.
Does that complicate things?
Is it necessary?
I guess I will have to figure that out for myself as I go through life Insha'Allah.
As a Muslim it should be our priority to be God-conscious and to be aware. But Islam is never a religion that puts us in a situation that is difficult without a way out.
Allah is all Wise and all Knowing, and we have to believe that whatever is best for us is what we will get.
We just need to try our best. Life is complicated as it is. We just need to have that 100% certainty that we are not in it alone and that Allah (swt) does not leave his believers to go astray and what is best for them is what they shall receive.
Remember, how you think of Allah is how He will be to you. Think positive and Allah will never disappoint.

NATURAL BEAUTY
I cant remember when my passion for photography first grew.
I feel like it has always been there, the desire to capture reality as a means of keeping the present forever.
But sometimes its hard to capture the essence, the purity of the moment.
We have a hazelnut tree in our garden and usually when my mother picks them they don't taste very nice.
But recently she tried them and liked the taste as it had become sweet.
Its funny how something that looks beautiful can actually be hard to crack.
Also occasionally when cracking the nut, a beautiful outter shell opened and led to brown empty inside shell.
SubhanAllah.
That says a lot about life in general.

IS IT ALL AS IT SEEMS?
Life...
And its endless complications.
Its reality and its delusions.
Its hope and beliefs.
Its pleasures and displeasure.
Many times a day do I try and look deeper into situations, find the route cause of a problem, or according to others .. "thinking too much/ over thinking."
This often occurs when I carry out particular actions myself. I apply books that I have read, lessons that I have learnt, beliefs that I follow, to myself and my own actions.
Maybe its purely because I think others think that of me, or its because I may aspire to work with people in the future.
With all of this said, it always redirects itself to, what do you believe in, and how does that apply to what actions you have carried out.
Does it have a purpose?
Like this moth I found on my wall. It has remained in my room for one whole day, only leaving a short while ago. Why did it not move from its spot all day?
This flower, may have a purpose for attracting attention of bees to collect their pollen.
Everything has a purpose.
YOU have a purpose.
I have a purpose.
WE have a purpose.
Whether you believe its to serve God or to help the people.
Having a purpose is the purpose of life.
Don't you think?
Sometimes its hard to put into words what is in your mind.
To be expressed or not to be is the question.
What is it that I want to improve on to fulfill my purpose?
Should we strive to want to be a flower whose purpose leads to trail of other roles or a moth whose role (I) do not yet understand.
Maybe that is the question I need to answer.

CAKES FOR CHARITY
On February the 26th I made a drastic decision to see how long I could go without sugar, be it cakes, chocolate, pies, sweets, sugar, spreads etc.
Before, I was someone who LOVED chocolate, and im pretty sure I still am. Its just been so long since I last had a chocolate bar (even before February 26th). Right now, its been almost five month this July 26th. Anyways thats besides the point. :3
I just wanted this message to be, that regardless of what decisions you make, do your absolute best to complete it, fight off the temptations, fight off the challenges, fight the battle of the mind.
Even if you are unsure of what you want the end result to be, or how long you want to do/ keep doing something, be sure to choose the opportunities that provide you the best, in this life or the next.
Be it for your health, religion, career, education, family, friends, charity.
BE THANKFUL/ GRATEFUL
Smile. Its charity.
Ps. Even though my mother baked these sweets I did not have them. Temptation was real though.

PRAY FOR GAZA
Take a moment..
To appreciate what you have in this world
To be conscious of your position in this world
To know that while you have the good, some may have the bad
To be grateful and thank your Lord for these blessings
To think of those in Gaza, Syria, Burma and all the countries full of suffering
Reflect on the purpose of your life and where you feel it is taking you
Just look around us. The wars, the fight, the struggle, the pain.
"The Nation that claims to be the key peacemaker on Earth is the same Nation that makes and sells the most Weapons on Earth." Dr Uthman Lateel.
"And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers. Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive." (Al- Baqara - 2:11-12)
Laa illaha illallah muhammadan rasoolullah (saw).

BOOK WORM
Reading has always been a hobby of mine; from fiction to horror, from romance to comedy. I get excited when I dont read for a while and then suddenly I have time to fit in all the books that I intended to read in.
Some people say that its better to read books that actually matter in life, which I 100% agree with. However, sometimes reading fiction is a nice break into an unrelated world where you get to watch someone elses life unravel. Its like living another life without actually having to do anything but move your eyes.
These are my books for the summer:
- A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
- The Fault in our Stars by John Green
- And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini
- Double Cross by Malorie Blackman.

INSPIRATION
Around a year ago today, I found the daily reminder on YouTube whilst going through a tough time. I have never been so grateful to Allah (swt) that He guided me to this page.
What was funny was that every time something negative came into my head, that night when I would go onto this daily reminder there was a video up and ready as if it was there specifically for me, addressing that particular problem that I was having.
From finding this page, it has also led me onto finding other pages such as
- The Prophets Path
- The Merciful Servants
- Chronicles of Faith
- Ink Of Knowledge
- Muslim Speakers
And many more..
Even though sometimes they may post similar videos, it just ensures you don't miss a vital story.
I seriously recommend them.

NEW WAYS..
Bismillahir rahmanir raheem.
In the name of Allah, the Most High, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Blogging became a thought of mine as a way of expressing myself and my thoughts that may not be something that I would be able to verbalize. I pray that I do not mention something that is mistaken.
As human beings, we are prone to making mistakes. Its part of the learning process. Its the way we succeed. Its the way we improve.
As we grow, we may reach a point where we feel lost, or misunderstood. Knowledge is something that needs to be sought out. Its something that we need to look for, rather than wait for it to find us.
Yet, we need to be very careful to find the correct resources.
Sometimes, if we are not careful about simple things such as this, it may only come back to us as harmful. It may feed us information that provide us with a belief that is not sufficient.
May Allah guide us and keep us on the path.
May Allah make out sources that of which follow the Sunnah.
May Allah guide the lost souls back onto the path.
May Allah remove doubt from our hearts.
"Ya muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinik
O mover of hearts, make my heart firm upon your religion
Ya musarrif al-qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala ta’atik
O director of hearts, keep my heart in a state of obedience to you
O director of hearts, keep my heart in a state of obedience to you
Allahumma, ya muqallib al-qulub wa’l-absar, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinik
O Allah, O controller of the hearts and eyes, let my heart hold fast onto your religion."
O Allah, O controller of the hearts and eyes, let my heart hold fast onto your religion."
